My sweet boy, Bubbalubs, Lovie, Love, Babykins, Baby A - we have an endless list of nicknames for you:)
How have you only been here for 18 months, and how did we exist without you?
I am a little behind on your updates (oops, too busy playing and having fun with my little man!)...so here is a snapshot of you at 18 months:
- You are extremely empathetic, and comforting to others around you.
- You love to laugh, exude joy and your sense of humor is spot on; you are turning out to be quite a witty little fellow with great comedic timing!
- You are insanely adorable when you fold our hands and you brightly begin prayers with "Dear Jesus!"
- You love alliteration; Brown Bear and Tough Truck are repeated quite often!
- Blueberries, Bananas and Num Nums are consumed with great passion!
- You definitely like to stay clean, and bring mama up short when you pick a speck of dust off the ground and exclaim "Ewww, dirty!"
- Even you don't like the smell of your own poo diapers, you wave your little hand in front of your nose and say "Eww, stinty (stinky)"
- You are very verbal (you are learning Spanish, German, Chinese and English), and you know all your classmates names!
- You prefer to use the word auto instead of car, danke instead of thank you, aqua instead of water and "patos" (zappatos) instead of shoes!
- Everyone adores your expressive and loving "Bunny eyes" as one of your buddies so aptly described your kind eyes!
- You have the most beautiful shade of coppery/golden brown hair with little baby curls in the back!

At this lovely age you have shown your Daddle and I what a truly amazing child you are! You have already put into action what we pray for each night, to be loving, courageous and kind.
Just a few days ago one of your little friends was minding her own business playing on the slide when an older kid started hassling her. You witnessed this injustice and sprung to action! You walked over, put out your dimpled little hand and said "Stop!" The older girl knew she was in the wrong, so she slumped away and you began playing with your friend. I cannot even begin to tell you how happy this made my heart; this beautiful moment of knowing my son is a little hero who is not afraid to act on the behalf of others!
You have celebrated a few holidays in the last six months (and no crazy themed outfits...which, to be honest, I really miss creating!).
I told a friend once, and this still holds true; every day I feel as if it is Christmas and every holiday wrapped into one when I get to spend time with you and Daddle. I am one very blessed mama!
Love you my sweet 18 month old boy - please slow down the time just a little,
Mama
